A while ago I was obsessed with an email tool called ‘Mailbox.’ It let you set emails to reappear in your inbox at a specific time or a specific location and then when you hit zero emails it showed a photo from Instagram that changed daily. I had a bit of an identity crisis when they announced that they would soon become no more until I discovered that Gmail had its own platform that was similar.
While it isn’t as minimalist in visual appearance, it still serves the same purpose. Inbox from Google has been a game changer the past few weeks letting me snooze emails, set certain ones to automatically collect into folders and others to show once a day. It also has ‘smart responses’ so that you can save time writing emails. The reminders feature lets you set a simple note to call, text, email or whatever you need to do.
With so many things going on, I’ve been testing new strategies and tools to help simplify the clutter and increase productivity. Inbox gets a big thumbs up from me for now!
The next tool to review is this app called Pomodrone… but more on this later.
