While I could write 5 posts about my time in Italy, in an effort to consolidate and finally share photos from my travels I’m putting it all into one post. Make sure to check out the map below of all the fun places we checked out (that I remembered to write down) and check out the photos for a glimpse into the fun we had!
Venice
Venice is a unique set of islands where no cars are on the main island. We spent a few days here following Paris and discovered that the best way to explore the island is to simply get lost walking the streets without a map!
*One tip when in Venice is to simply use the public taxi system rather than a gondola. It is insanely cheaper & provides similar views of the city!
Florence (Frienze)
My personal favorite of the cities we visited, the Tuscan feel of Florence was exactly as the movies paint it to be. I want to go back and explore the little towns, but it was a perfect taste (literally). We also just randomly saw some filming of Hannibal (the NBC show) in the train station as we were leaving for Rome!
Rome
If you don’t equate the city of Rome with Lizzy McGuire then this might not make sense.. I’ve always had a certain idea of what the city would be like and while I know movies (especially Disney ones) give false perceptions, I didn’t love Rome as much as some of the other cities I visited along the way. Also, The Spanish Steps & Trevi Fountain are both currently under construction so the views of both were a bit different than normal. Regardless, here are some tried and approved places we visited.
*Giolitti was the best gelato I had in all of Italy.. Just for reference..
