So I think I climbed more than 1500 steps in Paris, but each time it was worth it.
First we decided to climb the Eiffel Tower because in the time it took to wait in line for the elevator we could just climb. Honestly, it wasn’t that bad and on the first level we were surprised by a free ice rink. Now, we couldn’t have had better weather and then on top of it to be able to skate with a view of paris is pretty surreal. Level two was an even better view and then we took the glass elevator to the very top where a glass of champagne was in order.
The second hike (in the same day) was up to Sacre-Coeur and then up to the top of the bell tower for a stunning view at sunset. Again, it was totally worth it, but unfortunately my good camera had died by this point (it was dead by level 2 of the Eiffel Tower).
The following day we went to the top of Notre Dame de Paris (after my camera was fixed) for more stunning views of the city at a slightly different angle. I’ve since climbed bell towers in a few other cities, each being stunning, but I think this was one of my favorite views.
