Having lived in a city or variation of a city my entire life, I have never been the most ‘outdoorsy’ person. Sure, I love being up in the mountains or going for a walk in the park, but I also like my warm showers and ‘city things.’ I fell in love with the Highlands last time I was in Scotland and when we were planning some group excursions for the trip, Roslin and the Rosslyn Chapel was put on the list. While it isn’t in the Highlands, it is just outside Edinburgh and absolutely stunning. We went out a tad early to have a picnic lunch on the grounds near the chapel prior to hearing more about the chapel’s history & some of the ‘assumed’ masonic references that exist within it. With nearly perfect weather and fresh air, it was a nice little change from being in city mode and a perfect way to spend a Saturday.
