Here’s the deal. Whenever I go home for the holidays ie. Thanksgiving, spring break, winter break, I spend most of it catching up on sleep and recharging my batteries. Now I forgot about that little detail when I decided that after spending 3 months studying abroad, I would go straight into 5 weeks of travel to about 8 different countries. Luckily, I planned to spend 10 days in Spain after the trip to Ireland and the Spanish have created my favorite word – siesta. Sure, dinner is technically at 9pm here and nights begin at midnight, but any excuse for a nap midday or to sleep in I’m a fan of. Combined with the fact that our Airbnb had very little natural light and most of the time in Barcelona was rainy meant that I had perfect conditions to recharge some batteries while exploring. To make this post a bit less of a snoozefest (pun intended), here are some other highlights from the trip.
