Round 2! Here is what went down Thursday – Saturday.. hint it includes some rings and a prince.
Day 10 – Thursday
Tuesday and Thursdays seem to be my ‘down’ days where I have a bit more free time to organize and get things set for the following day. Between class, planning some travel and the gym the day flew by.
Day 11 – Friday
Oh Friday.. Probably one of my favorite days thus far. We had our music class in the morning which included our teacher playing guitar to teach us some music terminology and we then went straight down to the Olympic Park for my Sports class (yes a field trip on day 2). That is where all the fun began! The cool part about the park is that they have preserved and revitalized the entire area so that it usable and has created a new hub in London. It was a completely brilliant use of space and has made for a great area! We watched the qualifying and semifinal rounds of Wheelchair Rugby for the Invictus Games and saw the US and GB make it to the final round (GB ended up winning).
The Invictus Games were created by Prince Harry so naturally we expected him to be there and that he was. Towards the end of the GB game, I spotted him across the arena. Following the games, Heidi and I explored the olympic park in search of the Olympic Rings and we found them! Perfectly perched atop a grass hill and easily accessible to photobomb us. After finding the rings, and walking along the most gorgeous path to get there, we walked back over to the mall and saw a Jaguar / Land Rover experience area for ticket holders and because I will probably not be able to afford one for a while, we took the test drives in both cars.
Finally, we grabbed dinner at Jamie’s Italian (A Jamie Oliver Restaurant) before doing a bit of shopping at Primark. Primark is kind of like Forever 21 but even better. Think Urban but for 1/3 the price combined with classic british fashion and you might have an idea of Primark. In short. we need this in the US.
So if you can’t tell, Friday was a busy day which explains Saturday’s relaxing day at home.
Saturday / Sunday
I’m combining the weekend because Saturday was basically just a day at home to organize, regroup and prepare. Sunday plans include grocery shopping, the gym and studying.
So that about sums up the week! Cheers to more adventures next week.
