I don’t quite know what it is, but I’ve always been drawn to coffee shops as a place to work. I love the atmosphere and the idea of being able to work in a space with other people while still being able to enjoy my own peace and quiet. I find the smaller shops with the perfect amount of plugs, free wifi and relaxed decor to be the best (Starbucks is ok in a pinch but just doesn’t do it for me). Back home in Arizona I have my top two spots –
This is still a large chain, but this specific location has perfect natural light and usually isn’t overly crowded during the week making it a nice place to get work done.
I initially found out about this place through a friend and went once and was obsessed. Even though it isn’t exactly a coffee shop (they have juice, salads, bowls, sandwiches, etc.), they have plenty of tables, power outlets, wifi and awesome decor. I can literally sit in here for hours (and I have) working on whatever is on the to-do list for the day.
In Philly I’ve become pretty comfortable with Joe in the bottom of our building although they don’t have power outlets.. who knows why.. but because of the fact that I can walk downstairs it keeps a spot on my list.
Looking ahead, we have a coffee shop across the street from the apartment in London (this could be where most of my money goes..) and I can’t wait to explore the city in search of the perfect cup of afternoon tea.
