I’m always excited when a band that I’ve previously heard of and interviewed is playing a show near me. It’s one thing to talk to someone, but it’s another when you get to see them in their element and how the music they write with a group of friends transcends off a page into reality. Thanks to a day off, the guys of Courrier got into Philadelphia rested and earlier in the day on Tuesday before their show with Duncan Sheik that night. We met up at World Cafe around 3 in the afternoon to chat about all the things going on with their music. From the new album that’s due out in February to the acoustic house tour they just played, the guys have been keeping busy and are ready to get this new music out into the world. They have been playing a lot of the new songs out and the bunch that I heard are more upbeat and a great complement to the slightly slower last album.
