Christina took some time to answer a few questions for me! Here is a look at what she said!
Q: What got you started in music?
A: Growing up, I’ve always sang. All the time. I knew exactly what I wanted to do when I grew up. I had a karaoke machine that played cassette tapes and I wrote all my songs and would record them on blank tapes. I would pretend that they would be sold in stores and all that, haha. I got started on piano at age 10 or 11, though.
Q: Who are your biggest musical inspirations?
A: A contemporary Christian artist named Stacie Orrico is perhaps the reason that I have a soulful voice. I was about 12 when I started listening to her. Then in February 2010 I got into Christina Aguilera, and she and Stacie are now my two biggest vocal inspirations. My musical and lyrical inspiration, however, is mainly Adele.
Q: Do you currently work with any charities or have plans to support any soon?
A: I would love to support the U.S. Army. My dad was in the Navy, and I’m CRAZY about the armed forces, I love them so much and all they do for America.
Q: What is a TV show you would want to hear your song on?
A: To be quite honest, I don’t do a lot of TV watching…that makes me pretty lame I guess, haha. But if I could pick any show, I think it would be cool to see the contestants of the next American Idol maybe sing one of my songs!
Q: What social networks do you have and how do you talk with fans?
A: I mainly use Facebook and Twitter, although I must admit that I don’t care to “tweet” much. Facebook is so much easier…especially if you’re like me and you actually like to talk to your fans. I talk to them through pictures they post, to posts that I make, to little chat rooms. I’m a little fan geek. With my own fans. It’s one thing to communicate with your fans, but it’s another to have a relationship with them.
Q: What was the hardest part of being found on youtube?
A: Hardest part? PSHH. There is no hard part. I’m doing what I love; and the potential blood, sweat and tears that will go with it is all part of the ride that I’m ready for.
Q: What has been your favorite song to cover?
A: “Telephone” by Lady Gaga has always been the favorite. It was one of the first times I went all Mozart & Beethoven on everybody, haha. Pulled out some classical piano skills, and sang the song in a relatively different arrangement. Also one of the most fun to play live too!
Q: What plans do you have for the near future?
A: I hope that one day I have my own tour; big or small, size doesn’t matter to me. I just wan to sing. Perform live, for the fans that have got me so far. I hope I can impact lives, and maybe inspire some people and obviously come out with new kickin’ music for everybody!
