Q: What is your favorite song on the album?
A: My favorite song on the album is Return. It has always been my most favorite. It’s very melancholic and sad, and that’s the kind of song I tend to like the most. It is a down tempo song, but it still has very strong movement. The lyrics are about lost love and I think everyone can relate to that.
Q: How do you come up with inspiration for songs?
A: This album is my first solo record and my first experience collaborating in song writing with other musicians. Working with Andy and Bruce gave me a new range and new possibilities to express myself. Listening to the music usually inspires me or, reading a book, talking to my friends and my personal experiences. It was so much more fun working with two other people who took me to unexpected directions and made me explore new ways of thinking and creating.
Q: What is the most important message you wish to convey with your music?
A: It can be any message you want it to be and for everyone who is looking for one. I like to listen to the music and just get carried away. I think people tend to hear things they are looking for right at that moment. This album is fun and breezy collection of songs that inspires you to dream and enjoy each moment of your life. It has a little sadness, but we don’t want to be sad for too long.
Q: What song would you like to have featured on a TV show, and what show would it be?
A: I haven’t seen a lot of TV shows (I don’t have a cable) but I’ve seen some. I can see my songs ” These Days” or “Tears Are Not Enough” being on Grey’s Anatomy or “Goodbye Girl” being on Gossip Girl. Maybe “Beautiful Day” on Nurse Jackie or Fringe. I think any of my songs can be on TV show.
Q: Who is your favorite artist to listen to?
A: I’m in love with so many artists and it depends who is my favorite on the phase in my life. I just get obsessed with one artist and listen to them over and over again. Right now I’ve been listening to Tracy Thorn’s new album “Love and It’s Opposite”. My favorite song form the album is “Why Does The Wind?”
Q: How did you create the video for Summertime?
A: ‘Summertime’ is a fun song about love and endless summer. Central Park is the greatest place to be in NYC during summer, so that’s what we did – went to Central Park, enjoyed the weather, had fun and filmed everything.
Q: What social networks can people find you on?
