Q: Who do you think will win American Idol?
A: I’m actually not sure. I try not to name favorites because they are under so much pressure already!
Q: What tour date are you most looking forward to?
A: Well, I’d actually have to tell you that after the tour ends. All audiences are different and that’s usually how I gauge which cities I like. Hahaha
Q: Have there been any tour pranks?
A: Yes, me and morgan teepee’d my security’s bunk. It was awesome! Toilet paper was everywhere!
Q: Do you have any pre-show rituals?
A: I do my own makeup, warm up and always pray with my band right before we go on.
Q: How did you land the role on In The Heights?
A: It was a god thing. I had said I wanted to do something on broadway eventually but i didn’t know people were looking at me right now!
Q: What are you most looking forward to with the show?
A: Being in one place for an extended period of time, meeting new people, being in a new place, being able to mix two things I love – singing and acting. It will be a whole new experience but I think I can handle it!
Q: Did you ever think you would be on Broadway?
A: Yes, I’ve loved it ever since I saw my first play at age 4. I did community theater and drama club at school, so I’ve always wanted to. I didn’t think it would be now but I’m so glad it is!
Q: How did Valley Youth Theater in Arizona prepare you for your role?
A: Well that was where I first started doing theater. I had so much fun with everyone. I loved rehearsals, learning new songs, dancing, cast parties…all of it. I definitely learned time management. haha. Having homework and then rehearsals practically all night was definitely something to balance!
Q: Are you excited to perform with Days Difference and Kate Voegele?
A: Definitely! I’ve been with Days Difference for a few shows already and they are great! We even had a ‘Cake Day’ and they remembered that ice cream cake is the only cake I like. Sooo sweet. Kate is super sweet too! I cant wait for her to come on! They’re all so talented!
