Q: Where do you find inspiration for songs?
A: I find inspiration for songs from real life experiences and things that I go through every day. Also the typical relationships, things I talk about with my friends, and even sometimes movies and other artists inspire me.
Q: Other than piano, what instruments do you play?
A: I also play guitar and bass, and I play drums; but I’m terrible at them.
Q: What got you started in music?
A: My mom. She made me take piano lessons when I was a little kid and at first I hated it; but after a while, because I was forced to do it, I fell in love with it; and that’s really what started me out.
Q: How has being in a band made you grow, as a musician?
A: It’s challenged me, especially when we’ve worked with producers and writers. They really have pushed me and made me grow as a musician.
Q: What was it like to play the backup band in the Hannah Montana movie?
A: That was such a blast! We flew out to LA, and we were there for two days on the Santa Monica Pier, and it was like the perfect day outside. We got to sit there and play music all day, but we also got to meet the cast. And everyone was so down to earth and really nice.
Q: Are there plans for an album this year?
A: Well, the album that came out last year just went up on iTunes; and we are going to plan on distributing that in stores, and maybe adding an extra track or something. The single is coming out in February, and the album should hit stores in March or April.
Q: Are there plans to tour?
A: We are trying to get onto a tour in February or March
Q: Where did the band’s name come from?
A: It came from the idea a difference a day can make in your life. We came up with the name back when we first started the band; and I saw this bulletin that said ‘Make a Difference,” and the name Days Difference just came to mind.
Q: Who was your favorite artist to open for?
A: We opened for the Plain White T’s and All Time Low and both of those concerts were just incredible; but we did a short thing with Owl City which was a blast! Just the fans they have were awesome, and they were just so cool and so nice to us.
Q: What is it like to be in a band with your brother?
A: I love it! He is like my best friend, and it actually makes it easier as far as planning a schedule. And sometimes we do butt heads, but I don’t think any siblings can be perfect.
Q: What is the biggest goal as a band?
A: Our biggest goal is to get a song into the top 5 on the radio.
Q: What T.V. show would you like to write a song for?
A: I would like to write one for Grey’s Anatomy; just because the music that I like to write, I think would fit that show.
Q: What was the best moment in your career?
A: Probably shooting the Hannah Montana movie because that was just awesome!
Q: What is the biggest lesson you have learned from being in the business?
A: Patience! This business is all about waiting; You wait 80% of the time and 20% of the time you actually work. So being patient and learning to wait for things to happen is the biggest lesson I think.
