Q: What made you start singing?
A: I was in a first grade talent show, and I was just inspired by Mulan and Christina Aguilera’s ‘Reflection.’ I think it was just a combination of the want to sing and perform and her son. I just wanted to sing and knew that’s what I was meant to do.
Q: Who are your favorite artists and where do you find inspiration?
A: My favorite artists currently are Beyonce and Kelly Clarkson. My inspiration for songs are just everyday things; I mean when you’re a kid, there’s just a lot of things you see. And whatever happens that you think could be a good song, most likely will be, because the best songs are just made out of realistic moments.
Q: You will be on Radio Disney’s Next Big Thing; what was your reaction to being chosen?
A: It’s not official yet, but that itself, the possibility of being chosen, is just mind blowing; I was just so happy.
Q: You have one album out, will you be working on one this year?
A: Yes, I am actually going to have a CD release party later on in the spring. But we’re still currently working on the finishing touches and mixes of the songs for the album coming out. Currently it’s just going to be called, “All the Signs.” It’s kind of a follow-up of my EPK, and its got more songs, all the new ones that have come out, and I’m really excited.
Q: What’s it like to perform at the Wizards of Waverly Place tapings?
A: The whole audience is always supportive, and it’s always kids that are there, so that’s really great. I mean, we know Jake T. Austin, so we get the privilege to go there often, and I think it’s just great. We’re actually friends with the comedy guy who works there in the audience, and he’s really great and makes sure that I can sing every time. It’s just a really great place to be.
Q: Do you like acting or singing more?
A: I think that I was first born a singer; but as soon as I started as a young musical theater performer, it was just great. And I can just feel that both are so special to me, and hopefully, I can be able to incorporate both of the arts into my future career.
Q: Do you picture yourself on Disney as a Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato or Miley Cyrus some day?
A: I do. That is my goal currently, as a child artist. But I think that for me, the real thing that would just make everything come true is becoming an adult artist; and I know I’m only 12 right now, so I’ve got a lot of time for that.
Q: What TV show would you like to be on and what character would you play?
A: I think that Wizards is a great TV show personally, and I think Selena Gomez’s character Alex would be a wonderful thing to play.
Q: Was it a shock to have a fairly large amount of fans?
A: I definitely didn’t expect anything; the music business is so hard these days, and you really can’t get your hopes up. So anything that happens is wonderful to me. It’s truly amazing to me the way things have been working out.
Q: What is your favorite web site?
A: I think Twitter. It’s just so fun and so random and really awesome.
Q: What should people know about you?
A: I think something that’s pretty cool is that I’m an only child; and that I’m just a normal kid, just having fun playing the Wii and looking on the computer and just going through life trying to combine the best of both worlds. Because I have normal friends ,and I’m always a singer so it’s just that I try and combine my life to create something that is just special.
Q: What is your favorite Wii game?
A: I think Wii fit.
