Q: How were you discovered?
A: I sang a demo of a song called ‘Shades of Rain’ that my parents wrote and my producer, Keith Thomas, he saw it (although he wasn’t my producer at the time), but he saw it and he asked me to come audition, and it’s been good ever since.
Q: Are your parents into music?
A: Yes, I have a very musical family.
Q: What is the biggest challenge you have faced with your music?
A: I don’t know if I have a biggest challenge yet, but I’ll probably face one later. I guess just making sure the mics work at all times.
Q: A few fans have covered your song, ‘New Moon’ — Would you consider this the coolest thing a fan has done?
A: Yes, that’s very nice of them to do that. I mean, to acknowledge my song, it’s great to know that there are fans out there that love my song.
Q: How do you describe your music?
A: I sing pop/urban so it’s music that you can dance to.
Q: Where do you find inspiration for songs?
A: I find it mostly from JoJo, Rihanna, I really like Erin McCarley. JoJo is probably my first one though. Basically all the R&B and Pop artists out there. I also like Justin Bieber, he’s cute.
Q: If you could record a theme song for a show and then be a character on the show, what
show and what character?
A: I would probably be on “Wizards” or “Waverly Place ,” and I would probably be Selena Gomez. That would be so much fun! She seems like a really sweet person, too.
Q: Which artist, dead or alive, would you like to record with?
A: Justin Bieber or JoJo, either one of them. I really like their music.
Q: What draws you to the music you listen to?
A: Our music is somewhat similar and I enjoy listening to stuff, and being inspired and getting ideas for songs from their songs. That’s really cool.
Q: What are your goals for 2010?
A: Probably to write more, to maybe get an album later in the year, but those are probably my main goals.
Q: How do you balance a singing career with being a cheerleader and on student council?
A: I was actually the captain of my football cheerleading squad and it was fun because I’ve been doing it for a long time so it was fun to be the leader. And stu-co is a blast because you get to do a bunch of things for your school. My parents balance me out; they’re my Christian influences, and they help me stay positive and keep a positive view on things.
Q: What was the coolest event you went to?
A: Recently, I got to go to Universal City Walk and I got to perform for Savannah Outen and Emily Osment. That was really cool to be the opener for the opener. It was such an amazing experience and I got to meet so many amazing people.
Q: How do you connect with fans?
A: I connect with people on Facebook, you can visit me on MySpace, Twitter(www.twitter.com/celicawestbrook), you can visit me on YouTube (celicawestbrookTV) and I like to connect with them just by chatting with them, posting a twitter, seeing what they respond. So it’s really fun.
Q: With your YouTube, are you going to be posting more of your songs as you write them?
A: Yes! Right when I sing or do something I will make sure my fans hear it; they are my number one priority.
Q: What was your reaction when you reached thousands of views of your music on YouTube?
A: I was freaking out! I mean I came from a small town in Pennsylvania and now I moved here and just seeing thousands of people that love my music was just amazing. I was just like ‘ Oh My Gosh I got thousands!”
Q: What are your favorite Web sites?
A: I like to look at YouTube a lot, just to see what’s going on. And I really like to go on mystyle.com because one of my favorite shows, “Giuliana & Bill,” and I like to see when they’re on.
Q: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you want to live?
A: Capri, Italy; I think that would be the most amazing place to live, just because it’s on the mountains and it would be so much fun.
Q: If you could tour with anyone in the world, who would it be?
A: My favorite person to sing with, like I said, was Justin Bieber, but probably to tour with, I’d really like to tour with JoJo. I mean she’s amazing; I want to sing just like her.
Q: Your voice sounds a bit more mature than a 14 year-old’s, have you been told that?
A: Yes I have, I mean a lot of people think that it would seem like I was 17 or something.
